Rainbow

By: Lazette Mystique

The Double Rainbow

Filtered the sky

From one end to the other

Racing each other to the end

So large everyone could see it

Everyone wanted to chase it.

  1. This is an example of a pastoral poem. When I was assigned to write this poem I wasn't really sure what to write about. I began to think about nature. The day before I wrote this poem, the story of the day was about the double rainbow that filtered the sky. Everyone was so excited about it and everyone saw it. The thought that ran through my mind was how the most beautiful rainbows truly come after the worse storms. My heart felt warm and filled with joy. That even the people hurting felt love. Everyone who saw it knew there was a God. Everyone knew there was a purpose for the way they felt and the reason why they saw it! It was as if everyone felt peace at once. People would stop in their tracks and stare up at the sky! Everyone was pointing to sky in amazement. Cars even stopped in their run, the owners got out, their jaws dropped, and cameras were flashing! This poem is like the story of two best friends. This is what I like about this poem because it is as if the rainbows are alive!
